The Birth Class is an invitation to explore and strengthen the mind-body connection as it relates to birth. We begin by building a foundation of mindfulness: paying attention, on purpose, to the present moment, without judgement. Once we are able to sit and notice sensation (internal and external) — we sink into the breath and body where the intensity of these sensations can be explored with curiosity. This interplay between mind- and body creates an internal language of understanding that, with practice, can expand our capacity to make decisions that are in line with our values. And overtime, this alignment allows self-trust to bloom.
From this perspective, it’s possible to step away from a rigid mindset that tells us there is only one way to give birth or be a parent - only one diaper brand - or baby carrier - or pain management method to use - and start truly listening to what is best for ourselves and our families in each moment.
We believe this is the formula for a positive birth (and life!).
The truth is — birth is wild, beautiful, and mysterious. Who knows for each person the timing, the path and the outcome? The Birth Class is here to give you the tools and community to have an amazing birth experience, no matter what.
To be quite honest, this class would be perfect for anyone birthing or creating anything — a poem, a new career, a musical composition — but Sofia and Hannah’s career and passion intersects here … at birth! And they’re here to walk you through it.
Meet your Instructors
Hannah and Sofia met one Sunday at Sofia’s Feral State Breath church class in Salt Lake City (IYKYK!). They connected over neuroscience, mind-body connection and a desire to make birth better. They both love dancing as big and wild as possible! And - are both, not surprisingly, Aries ☀️
